Revenue calculator
Solar park revenue calculator.
Model the electricity generation, gross revenue and operating surplus of a solar park from your own assumptions. Results are modelled estimates, not forecasts of any park's results.
Formulas
How the results are calculated.
For each year n from 1 to the projection period:
generation(n) = capacity × yield ÷ 1,000 × (1 − degradation)^(n − 1)
sold(n) = generation(n) × availability
price(n) = price × (1 + price escalation)^(n − 1)
gross revenue(n) = sold(n) × price(n)
operating costs(n) = (O&M + other costs) × (1 + cost escalation)^(n − 1)
operating surplus(n) = gross revenue(n) − operating costs(n)
Generation is in MWh, prices in EUR/MWh and money in euros, in nominal terms. Full definitions are on the methodology page.
What the results are not
- Gross revenue is not profit. It is the value of electricity sold before any costs.
- Operating surplus deducts only the costs entered above. It is not net profit, cash flow or a return, and leaves out financing, tax, depreciation, fees and any cost not entered.
- A market price is not a realised price. The Romanian day-ahead reference shows recent wholesale prices, not what any park is paid.
- Not a forecast of any SunGrid or partner park.
